In the fuzzZone with Kevin McLeod and a Gibson A-Jr. Part II

Hey all you fuzzZone members…welcome back.

I have received so many great emails from all of you about the fuzzZone video featuring my friend Marvin’s vintage Gibson archtop that I decided to continue with that theme and feature another vintage Gibson instrument this time as well.

This time we’re back at Cloud 9 Recording with Long Island musician and flow fuzzZone member Kevin McLeod. You may recall an earlier FZ video that featured Kevin recording with his Lowden acoustic. This time he’s back at Cloud 9 to add a mandolin overdub to a hauntingly beautiful song he wrote called “A Girl of Nineteen”.  The mandolin is a vintage 1924 Gibson A-Jr. Kevin did a fine job playing it so it was up to Joe and me to do a fine job recording it too. It turned out that the right mic for the job was a vintage AKG C-24. Joe put the mic in the right spot, Kevin gave a fine performance, and that was all she wrote. I hope you enjoy it and as always feel free to leave a comment or email me with your thoughts.

See you next time and Rock On!
